
3 Day Tour ( June-Sept. )
This tour is meant to make the most of your visit to our
wonderful scenic region. The tour includes at least three themed tourist routes (some of the most popular ones) as well as a full day within the City of St. John’s. The City of legends.
Day 1 – City of St. John’s (7 hours)
The Historic sites you will visit will include but are not limited to:
Signal Hill – Most visited site- Where Marconi received the first wireless trans Atlantic message.
Quidi Vidi – 17th century fishing village right in the city.
Quidi Vidi Battery – 17th century battery built to prevent St. John’s from being attacked by enemy ships.
Commissariat House – Provincial Historic site -1821 – used as offices and living quarters for the assistant Commissariat General
Government House – 1831- survived the Great Fire of 1892
Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist – 1850
Anglican Cathedral of St. John the Baptist – Destroyed by the great fire of 1892 and reconstructed in 1905
The Court House – destroyed by the great fire-used to be a public gallows
We will also stop at a local restaurant for lunch where you can try some traditional Newfoundland meals if you like.
Day 2 – Land and Sea (7 Hours)
Come with us and enjoy the best of both worlds. On this tour we will bring you to the beautiful scenic Irish Loop well known for its Irish heritage. Leaving St. John’s we will first visit the town of Bay Bulls and join O’Briens Boat tour for a two hour excursion to see whales and puffins and maybe icebergs on our boat tour to the Wittless Bay Ecological Reserve.
After an enjoyable boat tour we will continue from Witless bay along the Irish Loop Drive to the town of Ferryland. We will have lunch at a local restaurant and enjoy the Irish heritage that is still present today. After lunch we will experience a 16ooth colony that is being uncovered right before your eyes at The Colony of Avalon.
At the end of the tour at the Colony of Avalon we will depart for a scenic drive back to St John’s.
Time will be allowed for stops for picture taking along the route.
Day 3- Killick Coast – Admirals’ Coast
(7 Hours)
A photographers paradise. We will drive along the coast of the north side from St. John’s along Marine Drive and enjoy the breathtaking views. Watch the ocean roll and maybe see the thousands of caplin that come ashore on the beaches to spawn along this route. We’ll visit a unique and tiny community of Bauline, a small fishing village and then continue on to St. Philips/Portugal Cove. Believe it or not there is a town of “Paradise” we will drive through to get to the Topsail Beach Rotary Park. Along the Admirals’ Coast you will visit the where you can see and maybe even uncover a fossil on your own.
The cost of this tour is $380.00* plus tax (Canadian) per person and includes the admission for the boat tour. Other amounts such as entrance fees and lunch will be at your expense.
